Sipajhar B.Ed College was established in the year 1994. The initiative for establishment of Institutions for Teacher Education was initiated by a group of Educationist of the greater Sipajhar area in the District of Darrang. In the Darrang District, at that point of time there was only one B.Ed College at District Headquarter.

The college was sponsored by Assam Education Foundation, a registered Educational Trust constituted by Dr Zoii Nath Sarmah who has donated a plot of land at Dakshin Chuburi, Sipajhar. The Assam Education Foundation is a Private Educational Trust which was constituted with Dr Zoii Nath Sarmah as Chairman cum Managing Trustee, Shri Rajani Kanta Nath, the Former Principal of Sipajhar Higher Secondary School as Secretary cum Trustee and Sri Badan Ch. Saikia, Former Principal, Sipajhar Higher Secondary School as Vice-President cum Trustee. Presently, the college has developed all infrastructural facilities on its own specious campus along with land and building as per prescribed norms of the NCTE for an approve intake of 100 students.

We are very much thankful for statutory support from NCTE, Academic Guidance and support from Gauhati University, all-round cooperation from teacher, students and local public of greater Sipajhar.

We hope that in future, with the cooperation of Gauhati University Authority and NCTE, the college shall be able to fulfill aspiration of public in general.
